Along with partners from the North Shore Land Alliance, Inc. and Roosevelt PTSA, some members of the Roosevelt Historical Society took part in Earth Day themed activities on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Our focus was on removing trash and other debris from the Roosevelt Preserve County Park located in Roosevelt, NY. In particular we became aware of used tires being dumped at one section of the park located near Prospect Ave. Our members were able to remove in total 31 used tires from the Preserves along with other accumulated trash.
Along with the Society’s weekly cleanups around various areas of the Town of Roosevelt (General Brigadier George A. Jones Triangle, Downtown section of Roosevelt on Nassau Road between Debevoise and E. Clinton/W. Clinton Ave, Roosevelt Welcome Sing locations at Pine St/ Nassau Rd & Brookside/ Greenwich Ave) we were proud to partake in the activities to keep our “One Square Mile” beautiful and clean for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.
